So here I am in Jasper. After another overnight journey (12hrs) from Whistler to Jasper, im arrived at 6am in the morning so had to spend the first two hours in the train station as it was the only place open that time in the morning and it was so cold outside -7 so stayed it the station in the warm drinking coffee a bit of brandy in it would have gone down a treat. Ive found travelling overnight as saved me time and money as ive not only saved on accomadation but also I usually arrive early in the morning so I get to full day to dicover that the new city has to offer.
Its so beautiful here. A small village that is surrounded by three huge mountains on all sides. Its so picturees here and has a real sense of character as nearly all the peolpe are locals and have a real sense of pride in their town.
As there are so many greatr places to see in Jasper I decided to pay for a tour to show me the sight. Thus paid $58 (32 pound) and spent the day being driven around all the main sights and hiking around them taking amazing pictuires (which I downlooad once I figure out how to do it-im so blonde).
We went to Mount Edith Cavell, Medicine Lake, Maligne lake and canyon and Sunwapta Falls. Unfortunately, owing to it being off season (being the fall, between summer and winter) when the tourism industry declines, the icefield and lake Moraire were closed-doh. But we had a great day seeing the beauty of Jasper. And it is so amazing. Medicine lake and Maligne lake as breathtaking, like nothing you've seen before. The water is a turquios green, you have to see it to believe it, it something to done with the limestone I believe.
So had an awesome day. Staying in a hostel high up in the mountain, deep in the forestry. And have arranged to travel to Banff on the Moose tour tomorrow as they are making a few stops on the way so should be good.
Forgot to mention, I saw a Moose and some Elk and mountain sheep (cant remember what their called) today, and meet some really cool English girl who im travelling down to Banhff with-awesome day.
Lets see what Banff has to offer.....
