Trip To Europe & UK
Cathedral of Christ the Saviour - this territory belonged to the St Alexius Nunnery in the Middle Ages. When the Nunnery was transferred it was foretold that everything constructed on the site would be destroyed. And so begins a long story and construction and destruction.
Finally in 1960 the Moscow swimming pool was built on the foundations.
Come 1994 the Moscow government finally decided to restore the Cathedral. This Cathedral is a very important sacred place of the Russian Orthodox Church and a symbol of the unification of the nation.
