Red Square - Cathedral of the Intercession "at-the-Moat" (Cathedral of St Basil the Blessed). 1551 -61, architects Barma and Postnik.
This was built by the order of Ivan the Terrible to commemorate the victory of the Russian army over the Kasan Kganate and the final liberation of Russia from the Tartar-Mongol yoke.
