Day 25, 23 February: Lusaka to Siavonga, Lake Kariba Margaret's (GPS) malice took a new turn today. Day 24 - Lusaka and the flat wheel AGAIN. (Denis) A LONG day. The second day that we were ready to leave by 9. Also the second day that the SAME tire was flat. The 450km road from Livingstone to Lusaka is good, with the notable exception of an abominable stretch of about 30km, just outside of Livingstone, where the potholes reduce speed to about 30km/h. Day 21, 19 February: Katima to LivingstoneToday we crossed the border to Sesheke, Zambia on the 'new' bridge at Wenela. Friendly border officials both sides, many fees to pay in Zambia, referred to as cross-border fees (carbon tax SAR300, local municipality fee 50 Nam dollars, Insurance SAR 300, Road toll 20US dollars !).
