2010 The Big Safari
About Us

If you have given up on my 'blogging' (only Francois Swart appreciated it, so easy to follow - nothing to read), the albums are now at least sort …
2010 - We had a dream to travel the world, to meet its people and to see its challenges, to cross Africa overland. Someone said "A goal is a dream with a deadline" so on 1 February we set off in our trusted old Hilux, Bigfoot, from 'Big Bay to Big Ben', where the next phase was to be decided.
2011 - Lingering in London, we joined the most depressed nation in the world during the Eurozone meltdown. This did not stop us from experiencing the 'Best of the British'. The worst took care …

Estelle Ahhhh! Quite a read! it seems like yesterday that we were saying goodbye in Melkbos. When do we see you again? Or is it ever onward in coldest, darkest England?
re: London, UKWerner Hi Denis, Thanks for sharing your awesome experience and adventures. Wishing you and your family all the best for 2011. Take care, Werner Barnard
re: London, UKGrant Amazing adventure. I like your comments re the little things. Those are the things that make one feel alive. You have created memories that will be carried through to your grandchildren and further. I am sure you have insights into yourselves that most people will never have.
re: London, UKMinky Wow - what a journey. We look forward to seeing all of you. Cam is excited about having Dean in his class and I am sure that Noah will enjoy the madness of his grade (and grade head - ha ha)
re: London, UKLeigh What an adventure with lots of different things happening. It must have been great but very hard sometimes. Well done!!! Lots of us will never have such an experience. Sounds good to rest this year and have a "normal" life......

re: London, UKRosanna Pindoria As fellow sojourners, meeting up at with our teenage family in Nairobi - I echo your sentiments exactly ... and wish Africa and ME, and so many beautiful people that we met along the way every rich blessing as we also are so richly furnished by memories of good people, generous and whole-hearted. And so onwards ... to 'normal life'!
re: London, UKWendy WOW!! What an experience/journey/revelation. Wishing you well in Jolly Olde. and now for the next leg of the Lundean saga... a normal life? Thanks for sharing

re: Kigali, RwandaCarl du Preez Cool pics showing the road, people, buildings. Amazing plant life and huge trees. Looking at the people's body language in the photos they seem very keen and 'humble?' to interact with you guys. Then at the sea again - on the beach - now that draws my attention. Have you been in centers or places with 'lots of people' because on the pics I see isolated people and seemingly quiet spots (restaurants) and quite empty streets?.....
