Infont of me was another long ass drive but i didnt mind bvacause it was cool stopping off at all the little villages and seeing the scenery on route.
The plan was to eventually get down to Wilsons Promotory but we were going to have to stop off on the way for the night so I was just going to drive untill we found somewhere we wanted to stay.
We saw signs for Bega cheese factory!...We both love cheese so that was a deffo destination to check out on route. Before we got to Bega we saw a nice looking lake through the trees so I pulled in and we went to have a look.
It actually turned out to be a marina and there were a few fishing boats in with a load of fishermen and women preparing their catch. On the side were built in "fish chopping up tables" (for lack of better words) where they were gutting and chopping up all the fish tehy had caught.
We had a chat to some of them and they told us that pretty much all the catch was for their local town fish shops and community which was nice. All the leftover bits they didnt want to keepo they were throwing into the sea which was bringing some wildlife over to the shore. Loads of Pelicans and a few fish and then....we saw a few big shadows.
After a closer look we saw about 3 or 4 massive manta rays!! it was a nice little find on the journey and after getting a few pics we carried on to Bega.
We arrived in Bega and hit the cheese factory and were allowed to try all their different cheeses yum yum. We grabbed a bit of smoked cheese for dinner later and hit the road again as light was fading and we needed to find somewhere to stay.
After a few more hours driving we still hadnt come across anywhere that looked like a cool place to stop over so we just headed for the next town because i didnt want a re-run of the night before when we almost ran out of petrol. The lucky town we found was Orbost, hmmmm
We found what we thought was a secluded road and we saw a few built in bbq's so we thought, cool we can cook dinner here. Just as we were setting up a few "boy racer" cars pulled in and started with the loud music etc, not really what we were expected so we decided best to find another spot. Eventually found a camping ground where the man was kind enough to let us park our van for $20. This actually turned out to be perfect as they had a bbq area too and a ping pong table!
We cooked some dinner and played a few games of ping pong and then headed to bed ready for anothre long drive tomorrow.
