Day 18
I'm happy to repeat yesterday's efforts and spend the majority of he day on the beach but the weather has turned and it's pretty miserable outside, plus Ryan had a late one and isn't feeling fantastic.
It's sounds slack but we didn't leave the apartment until 1pm both us lacking energy and motivation. Fatigue is starting to set in and I'm dwelling the long trip home. Ryan's also pretty anxious about travelling solo by himself for the last week of his travels and has invited his Italian bride to meet him in Ibiza and she sounds keen.
We decided to have lunch at La Perla a place we'd had drinks yesterday. Italian food is everywhere in Europe and they certainly know how to swipe up a mean pizza. La Perla didn't disappoint and food was exceptional. The sun was starting break through and the heat was pretty intense so we decided to hit the beach for the afternoon.
We lasted 2 hours at the beach. The surf was a bit choppy with strong undertow and the water was crowded with a lot more surfers than id seen in previous days. Ryan spent the most part sleeping and I was getting bored so we ended up leaving to get ready for an early feed.
Brooke, Ryan's sister had recommended getting steak for dinner and had recommended a few restaurants locally famous for quality cuisine. We walked the streets entering each one and they were either packed or required a booking. We went into this tiny bar and it was bursting with people trying to order T-bone steak. We squeezed through the masses to find people eating these amazing steaks whilst standing at the bar, I wasn't keen to rush dinner so we continued our search until finding a quiet place which I can't recall the name of.
It was our last night and I really wanted to drink quality red and have a great steak so we took a punt and it paid off. I can't say I felt welcomed in the restaurant at first, the owner seemed reluctant to serve and no polite greeting from his waiting staff. There are heaps of young Aussies in SS and they don't always leave a great impression on the locals. We immediately ordered 2 T-bone steaks and the waiter recommended ordering one to share, we politely laughed at his suggestion and ordered 2. We also ordered the most expensive red at 30€ a bottle simply called on the menu 904. It's a 2004 Spanish red from a vineyard called La Rioja Alta. We think the waiter was under the impression we couldn't pay for our meal or something so Ryan put his wallet on the table. From that point on the everyone was amazing, allowing us to taste the wine before purchasing and taking pics for us.
The steaks were fantastic and it was exactly what I needed after a pretty average day.
