We finished off our time in fort kochi by exploring the other side of the town where there were a couple more churches (a little more impressive than the dutch palace). After a mistake of a breakfast (it was filthy) we walked back via the jettty where many men were fishing.
We'd booked a taxi to take us to our next destination, which - to our horror - turned out to be the same antique car that had picked us up from the airport. Eventually we made it to the ferryport despite the drivers/our lack of understanding each other! We then had to wait (in the ladies' waiting area) a couple of hours trying to figure out which ferry would take us to the tiny island we were staying on next. The ferry ride was a great way to see a lot of the Backwaters and every day life.
We reached our island after
about an hour which is great! There are no roads or cars here and it is so peaceful all meals are included and cooked by the mum. There are loads of activities here so plenty to do over the next couple of days!
