Place: Hoi An
Weather: Sunny
We had already booked accommodation in Hoi An so had a shuttle bus waiting for us at the bus stop which was really nice. Our room wasn't quite ready when we got there but they put us in a nicer room for no extra cost so we could get in there quicker. We stayed in there for a little while and had a nap and sorted ourselves out. We then walked into town to have a wonder around.
Of course we came across all of the tailors! There are apparently 6000 tailors in Hoi An and it doesn't surprise me! We looked in a few but didn't get anything. They we walked past one which had some shorts at the front like some I had seen on the internet and liked. So we went in and I got measured up and they would be ready the later that afternoon. They only cost me $15 so around £8-9.
We were then looking around the market and we got taken to another tailor who Carm got to make her a maxi dress and a one shouldered dress. She chose the material and got all measured up and for the two of them they got the price to $28. Opposite that tailors we then went into a shoe place where Carm ordered some really nice shoes for $12. It would all be ready the next day.
After a hard few hours shopping we went and chilled in the room again; watched a bit of tv and went on the internet. I was supposed to go and get my shorts but couldn't be bothered so thought Id leave it until the next day when we would be in town anyway. Jungle Beach had put me in lazy mode.
We made sure we got ready to go out for dinner though. The hotel we stayed in had a free shuttle bus to the town centre so we got that and head down to the river front to see if we could find a restaurant we had heard was really good. The river is so pretty at night. There are fish things in the river that are all lit up and lanterns everywhere. The streets in Hoi An are lovely as well. It is a really quaint little town.
The restaurant was really hard to find so we gave up in the end and went to a restaurant over looking the river. It was around 9.30 at this point so I was starving. Everything in Hoi An closes at 10 apart from a few bars and all the lights on the river are turned off. It kind of adds to its charm because it doesn't force you to go out anywhere either. Carm still wasn't feeling great anyway so we head back to the room, in a kind of rush because we thought The Ugly Truth was going to be on but it turned out not to be. I cant remember what film we did watch but it was probably one that had been on a few days before.

Gran Hope you can fit all the extra clothes in your luggage! GREAT bargains. Hoi An sounds lovely, and perhaps you'll get a few earlier bedtimes if things close at 10.
