After that bus journey we couldn't handle tubing on the first day. We decided a pool day was in order and we had heard about one we could use at a hotel just up the road. After having a bit of breakfast at Central Backpackers we head up there and got some sunbeds looking out over the river and towards the mountains. It was really nice, like on a private balcony.
I was convinced all day that I was going to burn badly because I had started taking my doxy. I slashed on loads of factor 30 though and stayed in the shade when I came out of the pool, I was a good girl. We met a guy called Gav who was sunbathing near us and he was telling us a bit about tubing and how a guy had died on either the swing or the slide last week. We all then made a mental note to ourselves: no swing, no slide!
We stayed at the pool allll day. When we finally left I felt super drained and as if I needed food really badly, like I felt weak and sick. It was like that all the way up until we went for dinner and until it came out. We went to an Irish bar that served proper western food. I had Cottage Pie which was gorgeous!! But I still felt sick afterwards and was still really hungry so I left the girls my part of the bill, got a twix from a shop and went to lie down in the room. It was OK when I was lying down, and I fell asleep for about 12 hours that night.

Gran Hotter than in Thailand? Oh crumbs... more death talk! Tubing (whatever that is) sounds less appealing than a lovely view from beside a swimming pool, and the photo with lake and mountain backdrop looks stunning. Glad you're being "a good girl"!!
