Arrived in Ica but seemed pretty hectic and sweaty so decided to spend a few days chilling out in a natural oasis 5mins away from the town centre. Whilst there went on a buggy (with a roll cage) and sped through sand dunes. Arrived at the peak of several high sand dunes and attempted to sandboards down them - first few attempts were fatal and Cherise forgopt to close her mouth when going downhill, lying flat and consequently got a mouthful of sand! (see pic)! ...

Finally left Cuzco after much longer than expècted. Went to Nazca - when arrived, wanted to leave asap - not a pretty town! Took a flight over the nazca lines in a tiny, 5 seater plane. Nazca lines, to explain, were constructed by the Nazca culture over 1000 years ago and can only really be seen by air - spooky.

Day after inca trail saw a special offer to go to manu biosphere national park, part of the amazon jungle the day after. 4 day inca trail. Didnt get off to a good start - the only road to the start of the trail was completely blocked so everyone off the 4 coaches stuck on the road had to get out and move all the rocks - good team work - only took 30 mins. First day quite easy except when it started pouring down and we had to put the tents up in a random field. Next day 6am start for what was unknown to us going to be the hardest day of the trek. Arrived in a Arequipa after Puno. Great town - loads of bars!!! Booked a 2 day trip to Colca Canyon to see the famous condors - the biggest birds in the world. Stayed in some tiny little villages, chilled out in a natural hot spring outside when it was freezing. Final day managed to see 3 condors. However trip home wasnt too good as we had to drive through mountains completely covered in fog - luckily the bus didnt fall over the edge and were still here!
