Arrived in Oruro looking forward to the most famous carnival in Bolivia - the president was even there! We didnt realise though that the water bomb theme was still ongoing with the added threat of foam and water guns!!! Decided to up our defence levels and bought 2 plastic ponchos - one of the best things we have ever bought (honestly its ruthless) lol. Saturday (Cherises bday and start of carnival), bought seats where the main procession was taking place and watched the amazing processions with amazing colours, costumes, dancers and brass bands. Spent most of the day and night watching the carnival still with our ponchos and still being water bombed though with more beer! Random Bday for Cherise - met a group of travellers and ended up in a miners bar with a live band and had a great night dancing, learning the local steps. Sunday was great, more of the same...more processions, more dancers, more beer, more water bombs. Procession ended at 3am the next morning - by then, the brass band couldnt find the mouth piece for the trumpet!!! lol Great times!!!!!
