Hello people
Here's our little blog again...we try and write it weekly but we're busy people with all these beaches to lay on so just show abit of patience/restraint.
Anyway, don't quite know where I left the last blog...think it was the day we went the Aquarium which was last Wednesday. So anyway since then we've just done alot of tanning on various beaches around Sydney. We went to Bondi last Thursday but the weather was crap last Friday...well when i say crap there was a few clouds knocking around but it was still 20+ degrees. Anyway we've sorted out our little trip round to Perth...we leave Sydney for Melbourne this Sunday evening at 7pm and arrive in Melbourne at 7am on the Monday morning. We've booked into literally the only place left we could find as its Grand Prix week in Melbourne so the prices have skyrocketed but becasue of Lucy's insistance that she watches the Grand Prix we're going anyway. Then we're in Melbourne until the following Monday (i.e. the day after the Grand Prix) from which point we've hired a little motorcar to take us around the winding, twisty roads of the Great Ocean Road all the way to Adelaide. Then we're in Adelaide for a few days before we fly to Perth on Sunday 5th April. Apparently the beaches in Perth are even better than Sydney...just imagine that?
So anyway getting back to Sydney...it was my birthday this week. Firstly we did a little climb over the bridge on Monday night which was amazing! The city looked fanatastic all lit up and it really was the 'climb of your life'! The photos look ok but don't do it justice. Then the next day it was my birthday what a day and night it was! We had a little Aussie BBQ on our roof top with a few friends from uni who are here in Sydney too! I've got to say it was my first bbq i've ever done but wow im good! beer in one hand, tongs in the other...flipping big man sized burgers...loved it! While all this was going on some strange homeless/drunk had managed to stumble into the kitchen, being bent over the kitchen work top throwing his tea bags around the kitchen i felt was just abit too much so i went and told the manager who promptley removed him...he went kicking and screaming about how we're all 'Satan's children'...but i wasn't even listening after consuming six beers. Then we went out to Scary Canary...a random backpacker bar and found 'Rik' from Home and Away strumming on a guitar...this got Lucy very excited! Although she was too shy to go and ask him for a photo she did sort of happily snap away from a distance! So yeh exciting eh? Um.. don't think so. Then we went to Kings Cross and i got chatting to the weird dude in the orange t-shirt whose knocking round in a few of our photos...he was in the US military and now works as a private security guy in the Middle East...he was minted tho! And kept buying us drinks after drinks...nobody else liked him but i thought he was great! As you would after the amount of drinks he'd got me...we eventually stumbled home at around 4am-ish. (i think).
We spent all day...and i mean ALL day in bed on Wednesday recovering...then Thursday we went to Coogee beach and then managed to miss out on Kings of Leon tickets in the evening! Long story but basically I went the box office asking for tickets but it was sold out then somebody returned 2 tickets, but i'd gone to use the internet for an hour to upload all them photos yesterday...went back and the guy said he'd been looking around for me but could only hold them 30mins and then had to let them go. gutted! And today my friend Nicola went home and we lay in the Botanic Gardens getting brown again.
Taske care and happy mothers day to all you mothers who read this xxx
