G'day from Australia ladies and gents,
I know you people get excited by reading our little blogs so we thought we'd fill you guys in on the goings on Down Under!!
Me and luce arrived from Beijing last Tuesday and it was nice to be greeted by the warm blast of air soon as we stepped out the Terminal...nice change after the rather 'fresh' conditions in Beijing!
After hanging round for our free lift to our hostel, we checked in to our 4 bed dorm (sharing with two Swedish girls, who were quite ugly and didnt live up to the stereo type...gutted). Anyway went straight down to Bondi, filled up on fish and chips and then proceeded to burn it all off on our walk from Bondi to Coogee beach...about 6km i reckon! We went out down to Darling Harbour for a few drinks and Lucy enjoyed her first glass of wine since leaving England as she didnt quite trust the wine in Jingy Jingy!
That sort of set the tone for the week...beach and dinner out and a few drinks. Wednesday was cloudy so we didn't do much but then Thursday we went Coogee beach, Friday to Manly beach and then Saturday lay in the Botanic Gardens at Sydney Harbour. Nice change to getting up to work on a Saturday at 7.30 and driving to Castlefields.
Sunday we moved to our new funky little spot above a pub...a fantastic daily happy hour and fox sports means constant beer and footy/cricket! Not bad for $33 a night...considering we paid the same for our 4 bed dorm. But anyway good news for all you back home...it lashed down on Sunday, pretty much all day...and night! We went to meet Lucy's friend Aimee on Sunday night and had some food then off to bed after I battered Lucy at pool...5-0 I think it was...although I then stayed up till 5.30am watchin the blues secure their place at Wembley! Louis Saha Louis Saha...wheyheyhey Louis Saha! Monday the weather was crap again and i was knackered so after a bit of grocery shopping I had a little sleep and Lucy caught up with the goings on at Ramsay Street and Summer Bay respectively. Then we made our first dinner in our very clean and quiet hostel kitchen...chicken and spaghetti pasta in a dolmio sauce. lovely!
Anyway Tuesday we went to Bondi, it was hot, Lucy burnt her legs because she's silly and then today we went the Aquarium at Darling Harbour...there was lots of 'sharky sharks' and a whole load of tanks that looked like the back room at 3 Camden Road and now that's it. We're contemplating going to a concert on Saturday at the SCG with Coldplay and Jet playing but apart from that we're hoping the weather picks up and we can get back down the beach!
Keep in touch you workaholics...we're off for a midday nap xx
