Day 58 - Sat 37th Dec - Transalpine Train from Christchurch to Greymouth

Back to the early starts again now and life on the road again. This time I was getting the Transalpine train from Christchurch to Greymouth on the west coast. As the name suggests the train travels through the NZ Alps so this was really my first few of big NZ mountains.

Arrived in Greymouth late afternoon, checked into the hostel and then went for a quick walk around town. Very quick, there is nothing there. I can not think of anything that would make someone want to go to / stay in Greymouth. Don't bother going.

Went out for a bite to eat with a guy I met on the train who was on the same bus as me, then back for an early night in the hostel.
