Lucy's Travels
We left Seville on Sunday 2nd July and headed to Madrid. We got on a bus in Seville to the train station but ended up going completely around Seville, we were looking out the wrong side of the window and missed the sation first time round!!
When we got to the train station at 2.30pm the trains were fully booked until 10pm apart from first class. We know money is tight but didn't fancy waiting around and we didn't have any accommodation booked either...So first class it was! It was a 2 and a half hour journey to Madrid, we watched The Graduate in Spanish but with English subtitles, had our own radio channels and also had lunch - Ravioli.
The train station in Madrid was massive with lots of pretty plants and trees inside. It was however very hot, and Lucy and I had on jeans and a cardigan as we had to carry our heavy backpacks. We headed to an internet cafe to find some accommodation, hoping to find a hostel. 2 hours later and we were still struggling to find something. We found where the centre was and decided to find something there. All of the hostels on the internet were fully booked for the Sunday night so we moved on to find some hotels... As there is no beach near us we decided to book a hotel with a pool, but our money was running low and it was almost 8pm and we'd not eaten dinner yet. So we booked a hotel, wrote down the address and went to queue for a taxi outside the train station.
We arrived at the hotel and saw it was 5 stars!! Even though it was a bit over budget we did plan on staying in hotels every now and then!! The hotel is called Husa Princess and it is very nice although it would not be 5 stars in England - Not that im used to living the high life!!
We ventured out at about 10pm to explore and get some dinner. We wander the streets which seem surprisingly quiet and eventually find a restaurant.
We get back to the hotel about 12.30 and are shattered after travelling all day so went to bed.
