We had an amazing day filled with meeting more Lubago's!
We started the day by going to visit David (Mutta's brother) and his family. His daughter Joanick made us a delicious lunch including pilau (a very delicous rice with spices), avocado, banana, beef stew and katchumbali (a vegetable salad with tomato, onion and cucumber). After lunch, we went to Shopper's plaza to buy some chocolate. This is the first chocolate we have had since arriving here and it was amazing
Next stop was to see Jonas, Mutta's little brother. We met him at his office, SightSavers. Jonas is visually impaired and is the Vice President of this organization which helps people with visual impairments. We then went back to Jonas's house, which is still under construction. It is lovely and he promised that we will have a room to sleep in on our next visit to TZ. We were also very excited to meet Jonas's wife and his 11 month old son, Isaac.
Driving in Dar is not fun at all. The traffic is terrible and there are really no traffic rules that are followed. It seems a little crazy. However, the good in Dar far outweighs the headache of the traffic.
We are sad to think of leaving here tomorrow evening. It will be a very sad day for all of us. Thanks to all who have followed us on our journey around Tanzania. I read a quote that said, "Once Africa is in your blood, you will always return there." I think this is true. My life is richer and better for the time I have spent here. I feel that I know my husband better because I have seen where he grew up and the place he will always call home. I feel very blessed and gratful for each and every person who made our trip so wonderful.
