So now I will update you all on my Vegas experience! I had an amazing time, it is such a great place to visit. When we arrived at our hotel we had just driven past all these beautiful hotels and then we found ourselves at a seedy motel where we would spend the next few nights. The location was excellent though, right next to MGM Grand so we weren't too bothered. We had under an hour to get dolled up before heading out to dinner. The heat in the room was intense so we were sweating straight out of the shower and I found it hard to straighten my hair in the humidity. I later found out there was a/c in the rooms and then I felt stupid for not looking for it! Oh well I managed to look half decent and made it to the coach just in time.
We headed to the Itailan restaurant for our included dinner (some dinners are included where as others we must pay for) where John, the tour manager, was told there was no tables ready for 54 people for another hour. So everyone got back on the coach besides Braidy, Lauren and myself who were desperate for an ice cold vodka and orange. As soon as we got to the bar a HOT HOT HOT guy noticed our accents and told us he had just returned from Bondi beach where he was living for a while. He was with his brother, his dad and his dads colleagues for a work conference and his dad told the bar woman to put our drinks on his tab. They were all really nice and even invited us to join them all for dinner. We unfortunately had to refuse as our tour friends were returning shortly, unless they wanted 52 other people to join them also. By the time the rest arrived we had downed 3 free poured vodka ojs, so about the equivalent to 9 standard drinks at home! A little drunk I can tell you....
After dinner we got on the coach and cruised down the strip checking out all the casino's and then John told us the bus was breaking down (the driver was stopping starting before pulling over) so we all got out and John said to go inside the chapel while they waited for something to be done about the coach. Well we go inside the wedding chapel and take a seat only to suddenly see Elvis Presley waltz into the room. We all cheered, and then screamed when he said there would be a wedding. He calls Andy to the stage follwed by ME! I was chosen by John due to my lovely singing on the bus just prior. I entertained the coach with drunken renditions of the Spice girls 'wannabe', the Summer Heights High 'ecstacy' and I LIKE BIG BUTTS and I can not lie. So I get up and we are married by Elvis. Andy was extremely worried that the wedding was real and had to be assured it was not. I was so drunk that I was loving the attention (you all know me!) and even perfomed a dance I knew as a child to 'hound dog'. We had vows such as 'I promise never to leave you at the heartbreak hotel, I promise to always love you tender' etc. Brad taped most of it on my camera so when I can I will put it up for you to see.
So after the wedding and photos with Elvis we boarded the now perfectly fine coach to go to the old part of Vegas for massive slushy cocktails. We saw the largest tv in the world where someone was being interviewed. I thought "I am going to get on tv!" so I went running around looking for the interviewer. Everyone told me later they didnt know where I was and then suddenly they hear my voice and find me up on the big tv! I was interviewed for quite a while and everytime the guy said 'loza' everyone from my tour screamed. They couldn't find me but they were cheering for me and the guy said 'why are you so popular, every time I say 'Loza' I hear screaming from out in the crowd. So my drunken self says' Oh I'm an actress on home and away' He has no idea what home and away is of course. How embarrasing. The tour group find me and then we r all on tv, mostly girls and they interviewer says John must need viagra to keep up with all these girls. Haha it was funny. Then we are taken to Mandalay Bay and up to the top floor to the bar/club. It had great views over Vegas and very expensive drinks. Had fun and got home about 4am.
The next night we got picked up by stretch hummers and taken to Hard Rock Cafe for dinner which was beautiful. Then we got driven around in the hummers, taking good photos out the windows, and drinking champagne. Most of the group got out to see a show, but 8 of us just stayed in the hummer drinking, seeing the Bellagio water show, and having a fantastic time. We also went to MGM to see the lions. They were so cute, they were right there in front of us! I got some good photos of them kissing and playing. After that some went out, some went walking up the strip, myself and a few others went to New York New York casino and went on the roller coaster which was so fun. Its a great coaster. Then we played the pokies a bit before calling it a night. Not sure what time it was! The next morning we were leaving for Mariposa, Yosemite for a bit of R&R. I will update you on that part next time!
