Lovewells vs The World
Today we left Hamner Springs and headed for home. We were lucky enough to get to watch myth busters on sky before we went, one of our favourite holiday treats.
We took the Alpine Pacific Triangle route which was possibly the windiest road we've ever been on! We couldn't read or we'd get sick but luckily the radio was playing a kiwi kids programme that was fun to listen to. Gemma finished her horse count ( she counts horses every tribe take ), the grand total came to a whopping...
The journey didn't take long so we were back in Picton in plenty of time...enough time for an ice cream and a play in the sunshine on the waterfront.
Then it was on to the ferry, which seemed to take forever to load. Dad slept because after driving 2500 km in 9 days he was a bit worn out! We looked for wildlife but didn't see anything other than seagulls. We had a Very late Lunch (but no interislander scones!) and played games until we were finally back in Wellington.
It was great to be home at last and know we could sleep in our own beds tonight, with our cats who we had missed. We had a great trip, and had heaps of adventures. Dads car has the dirt to prove it! Lots of cool memories and inspiration for future trips too...
'Til next time!
