Back in Fremantle for our last day in the West. Have returned safely from the 3 weeks in the van ( only managing to almost kill 1 emu) which, even though there were so many things wrong with it we managed to get a 2 day refund, we did become rather attached to by the end. We have decided to move alongg and are flying to Cairns for some sunshine and having rented, we've decided to actually buy a first home.....on wheels. The original plan was to go via Ayres rock...

In a mcdonalds stealing the internet. We have rented our first home together... A hideously fake graffitied camper van. Will post pictures. Off to explore the north and south of western Australia! Trying to do as much free camping as we can bare (no showerss) and making our way currently up to shark bay to hopefully swim with some dolphins in the natural habitat and see some sting rays! Yesterday saw some kangaroos and got very very excited about being a meter aw...

Arrived safely in Perth late at night! Colddd compared to Vietnam! Had a little wander. Found a cheap tasty place to eat. Walked down to harbour, had midnight chocolate restaurant experience, lovely national park, rather entranced by my first kookaburra experience! Otherwise, not that much of an exciting city, so headed to Fremantle, a beachside town with a relaxed traveller reputation to see if we should stay there...

Had an amazing few days in the beat hostel either of us has ever stayed in in Fremantle (freo). Met some brilliant people, the place really felt like home after a few days. Spent lots of time sitting in the cool backyard bit in the hostel chatting to various people, drinking lots of beer and just generally having a nice time. Went in the seas, well, sort of, with some Australian onlookers in coats and scarves clearly thinking we were mad, lovely portside brewery....
