Today mainly consisted of walking the whole 10 yards to the pool, reading, snoozing, swimming ( well Sarah dipping!) picking the local produce, cooking and eating.........

So today we headed for our "honeymoon" destination! It did mean an early start and for those of you that know us, know that ain't our thing..... However by some miracle we were up, clean, bed sheets deposited and sitting alongside the other overnight strangers at breakfast waiting for coffee!!.We were approached by a man we observed landing late yesterday evening heavily laden and in need of rest. Today is science day..... So today's blog is written by Louise!!! Did you know that Alessandro Volta originated from Como? We started our day at the museum dedicated to him at the harbour, which houses his instruments used to conduct his experiments as a pioneer in electricity. (See photos). Today we cruised Lake Como, from Como to Veronna.... Now this lake is biiiiiiiiig! 2hrs 30 mins to get there. In between the people watching and taking in the view, I (Louise)took a 20 min snooze!!! Whilst Sarah was busy doodling in her journal!!! On arriving to Veronna, which in the guide books states that it is considered the most beautiful place on the lake; we searched for the tourist information area. 4 hour drive 'up hill and down dale'...well mountain climbs, hairpin corners and tunnels (as depicted on cover picture). Arrived safely at our hostel for 3 nights of exploring lake Como. Sat out thunder storm when we arrived to then walk into town and experience our first Italian pizza, ice cream and red wine (heaven). Getting ready to sleep in 12 person dorm, I (Louise) has got the top bunk! Great set up, looking forward to boat trip across Lake Como tomorrow.
