Hello everyone!!!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!

Sorry for not getting this blog updated before now....... so as usual we will try and fit in as much info on what we have been up to.....

As you will possibly remember we hired a campervan before we left....so we picked that up after our outback trip...... very strange to think this was going to be home for the next 3 weeks!!!!

While we were in Cairns we decided to book out reef trip and Whitsunday Islands trip..... This was FAB!!! Reef trip was just a day.... and the Whitsundays was 2 days one night on board a sailing boat......such a great experience......never seen a nicer beach than the ones here...especially Whitehaven....pure bliss!!!!!!

We drove down the east coast from Cairns...and tried to stop off at all the main sights along the way...can't believe the amount of time it had taken us!! I have to say I really enjoyed driving the campervan....made a change from looking at the vast amount of road kill!!!!!

Brisbane was really nice....much smaller than we thought it would be... but it was good to be in a city again.... even managed to get the hop on hop off bus around the city.

So we ended up in Surfers Paradise for Christmas...AMAZING!!! Treated ourselves and stayed in a hotel Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!!! Our Christmas dinner was very different to the normal.................. Doritos, salsa dip, Jalapenos, cheese, WINE!!!! Down on the beach!!!
But had our chicken, etc later on in the day on our balcony.......it was great!!! So glad we had done that.

Arrived in Sydney on the 27th... as you can imagine...not many places to park the van so ended checking into a cheap hotel whilst we were there.
Met up with old friends...hi Jen and Greig!! And caught up with newly made ones...Ciara and Martin (hope all is good with you guys!)

The next few days on the lead up to New Year celebrations was just basically catching up with friends and having a "few" drinks here and there.

New year was great. Saw the fireworks at the harbor bridge where we all celebrated in the park just below Vicki's house (thanks Vicki for having us.) The photos really do not do it any justice...but we had an amazing time and it was nice to see some of our Sydney mates again!!!

We caught our flight on the 2nd from Sydney to Fiji were we spent a night on the main island, and then the next day jumped on the "Yasawa Flyer" to explore the Yasawa islands.....we were so glad to slow down for a bit as we felt like we had been running around a bit......especially driving down the East coast...but was worth it.

We stayed at two resorts Waya Lailai, at the eco haven resort, then onto Naviti Island, Korovou resort..... It was great to experience Fijian lifestyle....veeeerrrrrryyyy slow...which was what we were looking for......never really did much except, sunbathe, snorkeling and sleeping!!
Although the food was very basic and was served at set times of the day (as there were no restaurants on the little islands!!!) it was a great experience (each day we were hearded in for breakfast, lunch and dinner, by the staff, banging on the drums to let us know food was ready.

So now we are back in Nadi (Fiji) where we are trying to update this......i'm sure I have missed out some stuff......as Iain is uploading all the photos whilst I type this so hopefully they will tell you more of what's been happening....

Got the flight to New Zealand tomorrow where we will spending just over 3 weeks...after speaking to alot of people we have so much we want to do!!!
