The long awaited Mediterranean heat finally arrived today and with it came an awesome day. This morning we caught a bus to nearby Krka National Park, which was even more spectacular than Plitvice Lakes. The real difference was the size of the waterfalls and the different elevations that allowed us to get a number of different views and perspectives. Yesterday's market visit provided a nice picnic lunch, and we spent the afternoon swimming below the falls pictured...

Sibenik got its due today as we enjoyed a leisurely foot-tour around the old town. Between the many nooks and crannies of the allies in Sibenik, we managed to find a number of interesting sights, including the panoramic views from St. Michael's Castle, as seen in this picture. After an afternoon market visit, we prepared a delicious dinner that was remarkably pork-free; a feat in Croatia.

The coastal portion of our journey has officially arrived as we landed on the shores of the Adriatic after a long but interesting bus ride through the semi-arid mountainous region from Korenica to Sibenik. A beautiful trip, and the end result was even better! Thanks for the recommendation Jablanka, Sibenik is just as gorgeous as you promised. We could be here for a few days... Hopped on the bus today for a 2 hour trip to Plitvice Lakes National Park, which is designated as a UNESCO world heritage site for reasons that are quite obvious on arrival. A series of crystal-clear lakes feed into each other through a network of streams and waterfalls that are as beautiful as they are impressive. As the French say, Google it!

An early morning visit to Zagreb's enormous market was an overwhelming yet nourishing experience as we fueled ourselves for the day. The rest of our afternoon was spent catching up with/gleaning information from a trusted local insider. Great seeing you Jablanka!
