Ok what have I been doing??? Time has been flying by (and also sta went down last time I tried to update...that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!)
Got on a train from Chiang Mai to Bangkok....and this time we managed to find the 'party carriage'. This is a v exciting and mythical place...we in fact thought the Irish were lying to us about its existance but no! It has a disco ball and serves beer until 10pm!!!! What fun. Played cards then slept...I was in the top bunk this time so slept with one eye open, as I'm not sure whether it would be possible to sue anyone in thailand for any kind of injury considering people seem to try and run us over at regular intervals. That's overnight train number 2 complete.
In Bangkok we met the new people on our tour, and older couple and 2 young girls. Sarah and I organised Briony onto an express boat down the river and then connected to the Sky Train...V nice way to commute to work if you ever live in Bangkok.
Ended up gettin dragged around 2 shopping centres dribbling over Chanel, Hermes etc from a distance. Weirdly a floor of the centre was fo cars, you could buy a lamborghini or ferrari! The mafia loving taxi driver turfed us out on the highway on our way home when we refused to visit a gem shop...beware of tuk tuk drivers and now taxis too. And anyone that offers you help...they are usually lying!
Had a fab night out on Kho San rd which is where all the backpackers go, danced to R n B and managed to avoid most of the thai prostitutes, of which there are many. Someone said roughly 80% of any thai girls in a club anywhere in bangkok are prostitutes or ladyboys!
On friday 13th (duh duh duhhhhh) we nearly missed our last overnight train as due to torrential storms the govt turned off all the traffic lights in the city...after 80 mins in a taxi with sarah physically shaking with stress we made it, quite wet and v grumpy...nice!
