Amazing scenery on the drive in the songthaew to the national park, cliffs and jungle (although as this reminds me of trekking I have a love/hate relationship with the jungle!)
Despuite the terribleness of bamboo rafting in a skanky river we decided to go tubing (sitting in a bit rubber ring) sailing around the river in Khao Sok. It was more successful except when one of the guides decided it would be fun to make me stand up on the ring just so he could watch me fall in repeatedly! (crazy b******) I have a scar on my shoulder and at one point we saw a snake sheltering in a tree on the river bank. Well as far as sitting in a river being drenched by a thunder storm in a giant ring goes, it was pretty good.
We decided that it would be a fun idea to sample 'jungle juice'', the home made cocktail at the hotel restaurant. It was all fun and games until Paddy drank about 8 and was sick all over mine and Sarah's apartment...my shoes are still stained bright pink!
Managed to get a terrible cold from somewhere, what a weakling. Managed to drag myself out of bed at lunch to go to a nearby temple in the hills, see a dead body (delightful) and feed makak monkey's bananas. Went for a bbq dinner, I passed out (literally) under the table at about 9 pm from the mixture of anti-biotics, flu medicine, alcohol, where I was kindly left to sleep for a few hrs before walking home on tarantula alert...eeeew!
