We had a bit of lie-in following our Favela Funk party. We got up and went for breakfast with the prospect of an overcast day loaming ahead, but in the hope it would clear up as the day progressed. So, we headed out towards Copacabana Beach, unfortunately the weather was too cool and overcast to enjoy the beach and sea and the beachside stalls were also absent, probably due to the poor weather. Nevertheless, despite the weather, we decided to make the most of the day and headed on foot to Ipanema Beach, where we took a few touristy photos (as proof!) and sat down at a 'hut-style' beachside cafe or a bite to eat (meat on a stick!) and a drink. We then took a leisurely walk back to the hostel through the city, stopping off at some shops (tourist and clothe shops mainly!).

When we got back to Mellow Yellow, we chilled out in our room and went on the internet before popping upstairs to the bar for happy hour (of course) and a special dinner of 'make your own pancakes'! There was a guy in the corner of the bar who freshly cooked the pancakes and then it was up to us to fill it how we wanted! We loaded ours with chicken, salad and cheese. Then it was time for the pub quiz and Hugh, the crazy quizmaster, worked out the answer to the footy question wrongly! Div! - We got it right and when he realised he was wrong, he quickly passed over it! Nevertheless, our team still WON! Woop-woop! Never won a pub quiz before! Our prize was a free Mellow Yellow souvenir t-shirt!

After the pub quiz and cocktails, we negotiated the (it's) spitting (!) rain on our way over to the night market, near Copacabana Beach with Janice and Vish, for some last minute souvenir/ gift hunting! We wondered round the cute stores, dodging the rain drops by hopping from under one stall canopy to the next and after a couple of purchases we legged it across the road and tried to hail a taxi, which was much harder than we thought it was going to be! - Not great in the chilly rain! Anyway, we finally managed to grab a taxi and headed back to the hostel to dry off and tucked ourselves into bed.
