Welllll.... I suppose I ought to write something in here really! It's been a while!
I'm now in Tasmaniaaaa! It's a bit cooler than the mainland, but it's nice still!
Left Swan Hill on Friday after finishing work and other shenannigans! (However you spell that!) Spent a night in Melbourne with Dale, had a look round Southbank, some of the shops and went to the Casino, which was very exciting! It was huuuugee.
Melbourne has had a massive heatwave and some of the hottest days ever, it was crazy hot. Like walking into a massive oven! Anyhoo, the city couldn't cope with the heat and there were powercuts all over the city. We were in the casino (massive, inside a big building with no windows and lots of flashing lights!) and the power went out - it was pitch black so we had to leave :( wanna go back though!
Yeah, then flew to Tassie on Saturday - flight took about 50 minutes, but took us 45 minutes to land cos of really bad turbulence, the pilot had like 4 attempts and the woman next to me and her kid were hysterical, grabbing on to the seats and everything!
So spent 3 days in Launceston (Tasmania's second city, in the north), wandering round, went to a nice gorge place the other day. Got followed by an irritating American woman who I'd helped out with directions and I could NOT get rid of her for the life of me! Eventually she fell asleep when we sat down so I ran away Muhahahahahaaaa.
Been looking for 2 weeks work to finish off my 3 months farm work for my 2nd visa, but am stuck. There is NOTHING around here, and the national harvest line reckoned there was no work anywhere in Tassie! Spoke to a working hostel yesterday who said they might have space on Thurs or Fri, so heading down in that direction today (it's near Hobart) and hopefully find some work down there. Fingers crossed!
After working for a couple of weeks I'm planning to drag some people with me in a camper van and travel round tassie for another 2 weeks. Then meeting peoples back in Melbourne on the 5th March ready for some birthday celebration! Hehe.
Should be goooood! Hope all is well back in snowy England!
