It was good to see everyone again at the Vietnam/Cambodian border and hear all the stories of travels! Almost like meeting old friends! Also nice to be home(strange though it sounds) in the big orange truck....gosh I love that truck! Cambodia is a beautiful country struggling to re-invent itself after decades of civil war have destroyed it. Poverty is evident on every street corner....which I don't think I expected...but it's easy not to think about such thing...

Saigon...I never knew this many scooters existed in the world....never mind in one city! Had a mad dash round the city trying to take it all in as well as visiting the War Remnants Museum before heading off to the Chu Chi tunnels and then onto Can Tho and the Mekong Delta. Next stop was Hoi An....fortunately a smaller more relaxed town only 5kms from the beach this time. Guess where my first stop was? Only after a quick dip in the pool. Watched a storm approach then cycled home when the rain stopped, I love being in the sea during a storm! Visited a tailor called Happy (who was very Happy) then had dinner in the old town! Crossed the border into Vietnam with Bikini on and sarong in hand...well I thought about it! Spent the first evening in Hue breathing a very large sigh of relief....no truck....yipee!!!! Wandered some of the Imperial city and watched the sunset over the river with a glass of red wine(another good reason to be very happy!). Yawn....arrived in Vang Vieng al ittle more refreshed than I was leaving Luang Prabang! Finally managed to locate the trucks occupants and my accomodation for the night....and swiftly decieded I wasn't staying there and found myself new digs with a few others! After a wander round the town popped into the local pub to wish Nick a Happy Birthday and have some food and then swiftly left and headed to bed...body is telling me to take it easy!
