We spent the day travelling along the Great Ocean Drive east of Melbourne. The Drive is about 250 km. in total from Torquay to Warrnambool in Victoria. It is truly spectacular. We have travelled along many great drives (California Coast, Dalmatian Coast, etc.). This one beats them all. We probably only drove about 200 km. today, with many stops at lookout points along the way. The two most well-known are the Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge (with many tourists at both) toward the eastern end of the Drive. The Twelve Apostles is the name given to an area with pillars of rock rising from the surf. There are actually only 8, some have collapsed as a result of water erosion. Loch Ard Gorge is named after a ship which wrecked on the rocks in 1878. Could have posted dozens of photos but selected 7 which are representative of the Great Ocean Drive.
