We continued through the wine regions north of the Coonawarra in South Australia, soon reaching grain lands. For several hours we travelled through a landscape not dissimilar to the prairies (although there are still plenty of pasture lands (i.e. sheep). South of Murray Bridge we returned to more rolling topography as we entered the Fleurieu Peninsula. At Goolwa, on the coast, we stopped for a picnic lunch and a view of the start of the Coorong National Park, which features a long strip of land that serves as a barrier between the ocean and a narrow water way beyond which is the mainland. The Murray River enters the ocean in this area. The ocean side of the Coorong N.P. is about 150 km. of beach. Continuing along the south coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula we arrived at Victor Harbour, a neat town with plenty of attractions for tourists. Heading west we arrived at Cape Jervis and found a great room in a farm setting that had about 6 cabins. We overnight here and catch the ferry for Kangaroo Island tomorrow morning.
