Day 93-94
We headed into St Kilda for the Sunday markets, although we were slightly disappointed as we expected there to be around 150 stores; but there were only around 40.
Once we had looked at all the stores, walked along the Esplanade and the jetty for some tourist photos we headed back on the tram to our hostel. Whilst on the tram we were asked if we were Swedish by a local and he was surprised to hear that we were English. This has happened a few times and we are contemplating on whether to pick up Swedish, ha ha!
Back at the hostel we had to sort out everything for our trip to New Zealand tomorrow. We are sad to leave Australia as we've had some amazing adventures and it has been our home for 3 months, although very excited about what lies ahead in New Zealand.
The following day we were up at 0500 to get to Tullamarine Airport in Melbourne to go to New Zealand. Lots of flights had been cancelled or delayed due to engineering pay strikes luckily we were only delayed 35 minutes.
We spent some of the trip staring out of the window and enjoying the views of Auckland. When we arrived at the airport Lorna got stopped by the dogs for smuggling...honey. It was confiscated without her having the cavity search?! Or so she says, ha ha!
Once at the hostel we took a walk down to Mt Eden town centre to buy some food and then had a well earned rest.
