Days 47, 48 - 29th & 30th August Honduras
Ruins & Diesel Smoke
In order to get this blog up to date I will keep reports a bit shorter, although I will try and take more photos.
The border crossing to Honduras went smooth although it did cost $26 to enter the bikes. The money changes were at hand again
to change money to local currency.
It was a short ride to the township of Copan Ruins and it was so nice we decided to spend an extra day there. It's starting to rain every evening so I will have to shorten the ride days.
I went to the Mayan Copan Ruins next day, it was well worth it. Hired a guide at $25 to fill us in on the history. Can't believe how old this place is, well over a 1000 years, and a lot of it is still standing.
Decided to try and hit the border with Nicaragua next day, I didn't want to hang to long in Honduras because of the political tensions. Besides the pot holes which that would swollow your bike and the smog and traffic of the capital Tegucigalpa we made
the border with Nicaragua.
Cheers
Greg
