Days 83 & 84 5th & 7th October (Ushuaia) Argentina
End of the Road...
Can't believe I have actually made it to Ushuaia, the most southern city in the world. It has taken me just under three months to travel from almost the top of the world to the bottom.
The last day to reach Ushuaia was a big one. Over 600KM's was covered which involved exiting Argentina, entering Chile, exit Chile and re-enter Argentina. Also had to cross the Magellan straight by boat as Tierra del Fuego (Land of fire) is an island, and lastly
throw in 200KM's of dirt.
The mountains around Ushuaia are covered in snow and the town is bigger than I thought. I had to ride another 30KM's into a National Park to actually reach the end of the road and the obligatory shots were taken at the sign.
I have covered a total of 32,700KM's which started on the 8th July and ended the journey south on the 6th October. I have been carrying some Cuban cigars since Honduras and it was finally time to light one up.
It is all north bound from here to Buenos Aires and the last headache, getting the bike back to OZ.
Next report will be a quick summary of the whole trip with all the highs and lows. Once in BA with more time on my hands I will add more videos.
Cheers from the roads end
Greg
