Hey guys,
Since the last blog update we ventured north of melbourne and went to sydney! We only had a limited amount of time here so we visited the must see things such as the opera house and the harbour bridge!! They were both really good to see if only we could have seen them in the sun rather than the cold and rain!! There was an option to climb the bridge but at nearly 100 pound we decided to give it a miss!! Also in sydney we visited the botanical gardens as well as bondi beach!! It has to be said apart from the fact that it was very cloudy we werent massivly impressed by it!! On our travels we have seen a lot nicer beachs, but considering it is only 10 minutes away from central sydney it was pretty nice for a city beach and we could imagine it would be nicer if the sun was out!!
After our trip to sydney we took a flight to Fiji where we were promised warm weather and sun.....although we were checking the forecast and it didnt look particularly good with rain and cloud predicted! When we arrived in Nadi the capital of Fiji it was night but it was very humid so that gave us hope that the weather would infact be okay! The next day we woke up to overcast but warm conditions!!! So we got the awesome adventures boat to the outer islands! Our plan was to do a 7 days 6 night tour of 4 islands!! The first island we visited was coral view we arrived in the late afternoon and chilled out. The next day we woke to lots of cloud we rain, we decided to brave it though and kayak about 2km to another island called the blue lagoon where there was some cool coral to see and snorkal around!! After this we then played vollyball in the rain with the locals and nathan played rubgy with them for about 2 hours!! They are all massive and very quick!! After this the sun decided to come out and for the rest of our trip there was beautiful weather with hardly a cloud in the sky!! The other 3 islands we visited were all beautiful with the last one called South sea island being one of the most amazing of all as it took about 2 minutes to walk all the way round the outside of it!!! On the second to last island called Kuata I got the chance to go spear fishing, this was amazing to see I went for about 2 hours and mostly followed them and handed the fish to a guy on a kayak but got 10 minutes at the end of it to have a go myself!! I have to say the Fijians made it look a lot more easy then it was!! They could easily dive down to about 10 meters no problem and then hold their breathe for about 2 minutes down there!!
We really enjoyed our trip to Fiji the weather was beautiful and the people were really amazing to meet, they made you feel really welcome in what was basically their homes and villages!! It was a lot better in many ways than we thought becasue it wasnt at all touristy and ruined by too many brits going over there! We had a thought that it may be a bit like spain and taken over but it was really rustic and we really enjoyed it!!
Currently we are in NZ and have got many things booked up already like a bungy jump and skydive etc etc!! We shall update you later on about that!!
Hope things are good back home and im sure you shall be glad to hear that it is frezzing in NZ so we now feel the same pain and you back in england!!
Much love Lloyd and Nathan
