Hi guys,
We are nearing the end of our NZ part of our trip, since we have been here we have gone whale watching (although without seeing any whales :-(), bungy jumping, skkdiving, canyon jet boating, ludging all in queenstown!! Then we headed north to wanaka where we met up with some friends from Fiji and went clay pigeon shooting and pistol shooting!
From there we went further north the fox glacier, here we went ice climbing using pick axes and crampons! Here we climbed a couple of walls the tallest one being 6 meters which was pretty amazing. The glacier was a lot bigger than we ever thought it was going to be! We also went through a tunnel that under the glacier which was amazing!
Thinking that we were spending too much time down south we headed up to picton to get the interislander accross to wellington! Here we met up with a couple of friends again from Fiji. With little to do in wellington the capital headed north the Taupo where we went played a bit of golf and went to a natural hot river which was amazing! Then we headed north again for an hour to Rotoura where becasue of the volcanic activity smelt quite a lot like egg! Here we did grade 5 wight water rafting (the highest possible) and went down a 7 meter waterfall which was quality, afterwards we got to use a hot sulpher pool at 40 degrees for free, which was a nice suprise after the cold weather and rain that we have been having!
Once again with time running out we thought that it would be best if we headed north west to waitomo caves where we went caving! Here we absailed down 22meters into the cave, then absailed down a 5 meter and 1 meter waterfall! Halfway through we stood and took in the glow worms which were amazing although we found out that they were infact glow maggots and the glow came from there poo!!
We then decided to head up to Auckland where we met up with another friend from Fiji we chilled at his house which was a great relief from our slightly cramped van. We also played a round of golf with him before we went to the top of the north island! Here we went sandboarding which was great fun (up 100m sand dunes) although we ended up with many bumps and bruises and sand EVERYWHERE!! Now our time has come to end we are back in Auckland before we head to our next part of our adventure to South America!
It has been great fun having the addition to our team of Rory (the egg).
Hope everyone is good back home,
Love the boys xxx
