G'day maties! It is 8pm here just now and us girlies have just about thawed out from a freezing night of sleep! When we arrived here yesterday they were a bit disorganised as it was early in the morning so were weren't given warm blankets or anything. We asked for some later on and they were like "yeah, there's stuff over there so help yourselves", which we did so we took 2 blankets each. Once we were upstairs we realised the others had duvets and blankets but we thought we would be fine! Well, we weren't! It was baltic!!! Each of us remembers waking up in the middle of the night shivering! So we will be enquiring about heating and duvets etc before we go upstairs tonight! Today we spent the day in Fremantle (Freo to the locals) which is a fishing port and town just a short train ride away from the city. We visited the Roundhouse, which is a former jail (or gaol as they call it) and saw them fire the one o'clock cannon - exciting for the little boy who they let light it! Then we went to the Fremantle markets, the Harbour and the Jail. Lisa phoned when we were in the jail and she actually believed that we had been arrested the night before for being drunk and disorderly - you are so gullible Lisa, ha, ha!! There was a database of convicts at the jail (all came from Britain in the 1800s) and I managed to find a McKechnie - wonder I am related to the thug!! ;0) For dinner in Freo we had what was apparently the best fish 'n' chips in the world. Not compared to Scotland they weren't, but still nice though! In the past week 2 out of the 3 of us have now been shat (oops, I mean pooped ;0) ) on by a bird and guess who's turn it was today!!! Was well raging, especially after I just done my washing last night!!! Hate these Aussie seagulls! Anyway you know what they say about it coming in threes so Christine better watch her back! We were gonna go to the pictures tonight as there is a cinema just up the street (and it would probably be warmer than the room) but there's nothing on for hours so not sure what we are gonna get up to! Still not found anywhere to download our photos here yet, but hopefully will see somewhere tomorrow as I think we are gonna see the city sights! Ciao for now xx
