Discovery of new places and new experiences….time for another road trip!

We headed to Oudtshoorn today; finally I was able to see some caves. Before the caves, we went to an ostridge farm for a tour; it was a very strange experience…. Of course it was time to be a tourist, we got told all about the birds, about their biology, how there farmed what there feathers can be used for etc. Then to see some of the birds, and the opportunity to ride on one…. As I watched these ostridges getting people put on them I decided it wasn’t for me I didn’t think it was write for me to be going on them. There speed is incredible, the tour was very interesting, it was just quite a strange experience!

From there it was to the Cango Caves, it is very touristy even though I did go on the adventure tour through some very tight spaces a lot of people have gone through the caves. It was incredible to see the size of such caverns and the true structure of stalagmites and stalactites along with the pillars formed when they both meet! It almost didn’t seem a real natural feature because of its incredible presence to the human eye. It was an awesome day as we headed back to the volunteer house. As the sun begun to set we walked into town along the lagoon, today was another new experience which I loved!
