Liz's Travels
Hello everyone,
We visited Toul Sleng Genocide museum and then the killing fields. There is no way of describing how it felt to visit the places where thousands and thousands of Cambodians had been killed for no reason, and all in the past 30 years. The killing fields were really peaceful, but you walk around and over the bones and clothes of those killed. Then, amongst it all were several street kids just playing in the fields and it really makes you realise what suffering this country has had. Our guide alone lost 5 brothers and sisters, and his Dad under Pol Pets regime.
Pretty depressing so close to Christmas, but afterwards we headed to a restaurant that sponsors some orphaned kids, and we met them all! They were so cute and friendly. They all spoke really good English too.
The next day, Christmas Eve,we headed to Siem Reap on a morning flight.
