We slept in today. We find sea days to be quite boring at the best of times. But on this trip the weather is cool so even hanging out at the pool area is not an option. It started out very foggy and cool and it didn’t change much throughout the day. After breakfast we wandered around the atrium area where there were sales in all the shops and free samples of some foods and vodka. Vic went to the vodka sampling area several times! We tried to attend a lecture on Tallinn but it was overflowing with people and not even standing room was available. We find this cruise is not well organized at all (not enough seats for lectures or even in the buffet at breakfast and lunch) and after talking to some people we found we’re not the only ones to feel this way. And we find the ship is very hard to navigate although quite beautiful. There are 3,500 people on board and you can’t get to some decks with certain elevators. We’re not cruising experts by any means. It this is only our 4th cruise but compared to the others we find this one very disorganized and frustrating. We probably go double the distance to get anywhere because we take the wrong bank of elevators or the place we want to go is at the front and we end up at the rear. And before any of you think it, it’s not because of our age!
There is a skywalk on the ship which is an overhanging semi circle walkway over the ocean. It’s kinda freaky when you walk on it. I understand now why they say “Don’t look down” to people who are afraid of heights. I’m not and when I looked down I got vertigo.
After hanging out at the atrium for a while we decided it was lunch time. There is a burger bar so we opted for that instead of the buffet. We did go to the buffet to scope it out but nothing really caught our eye amongst the hundreds of foods available. ;)
We did, however, meet our Aussie friends and made arrangements to meet them and 2 other Aussie couples for dinner tomorrow night. We just have to go to a specific restaurant and ask for “George’s table”. By the way, the burger was fantastic.
Then we just hung out in our room sipping some smuggled wine and I got to work on the blog. We have been so busy and I haven’t had time to write anything or had access to wifi to post anything. Hopefully, I’ll get a chance tomorrow and get some updates sent out.
We were on our own for dinner. Our Aussie friends have reservations at one of the specialty restaurants that you pay extra for.
Tomorrow we dock in Warnemunde, the port for Berlin.
