Hi all,
Sorry its been a few days (were leaving out apostrophes and the like as we cant seem to find them on this random keyboard)
Anyway were currently on a beautiful tropical island called Ilha Grande just off the coast of brazil - Costa Verde. We caught a 3.5 hour bus and then a 1.5 hour boat and found an interesting pousada (hostel/guesthouse) for the first night which was R$60 per night but had a beautiful breakfast with the most amazing view of the marina and smaller surrounding islands showered in the morning sunshine. There are no cash points on the island and we didnt bring enough for this each night so now we are camping which we bartered down to R$70 for 3 nights in total. This is our second day here, yesterday we got on a boat to a neighbouring beach called Lopes Mendes which was stunning. Not sure what were going to do today but our first stop will be to grab an Acai for breakfast which is local berries (apparently a superfood), frozen and ground up with granola, syrup and bananas! YUMMY
On Sunday we are heading back to the mainland to a place called Paraty renowned for more beautiful beaches and great nightlife. We should have better means of communication there, neither of our SIM cards work and the internet is expensive here (were currenly using the campsite managers laptop to put the padres minds at rest........bless him!)
On Tuesday we went to Copacabana with our mates to watch the match, best day yet. The atmosphere was electric, the screen was up on a massive stage in a shut off area on the beach with bars and toilets etc inside, the capacity was 20,000. It was a wash of yellow and green, AMAZING. We arrived 2 hours before the match started and they stopped letting people in 15 mins later, very very lucky. After the match we stayed in this area as they had live Samba bands on stage which was great. Liz got buried in the sand up to her thighs and had a huge Brazil flag wrapped round her then everyone was dancing round in a circle,we got lots of press taking pictures of the strange gringos (travellers).

Jo Sounds amazing guys...wish I was there! x
Dad Hiya, your island sounds wonderful. I'm so pleased you're having such a brilliant time. Nice one after the game Liz, so it takes Brazil to turn you into a flagpole! That's not what I meant when I asked you to wave. Here it's pretty much business as usual. We had rain today, that was jolly. England tonight, come on. Oh yes, Germany just lost 1-0 to Serbia. There's something you don't read every day. I have work to do so I'll love you and leave you for now. You are going to have aching faces because it sounds like you spend most of your time grinning. Grin on ninos. I look forward to the next news flash, I look forward even more to having a beer and a hug together at Christmas. Big love xXx
Momma M Well what a wonderful time you are having.........living the good life.Sounds magical and seems like you have certainly touched on a little bt of paradise.I am sure there is lots more to come.I cannot believe that it has only been just over a week since you left as it seems absolutely ages.
