Kangaroos, Emus and Cheese o'clock
With the Wilkins having arrived and settled in we all travelled to Loch Sport for a week's holiday (the daily routine here is pretty tough otherwise!) Loch Sport is a tiny town (mainly holiday houses) on an enormous lake. The back garden goes straight onto the lakeside beach with beautiful views from the 1st floor decking. Every night up to 10 kangaroos hopped into the garden while we watched from the deck.
It was so peaceful - with noone else around we enjoyed long days on beach, beer and cheese o'clock at 5 and the boys floating in the water in a rubber ring.
Apart from a quick trip to the 90-mile beach (so beautiful and noone to be seen in either direction) we happily did very little apart from a quick run in the morning in the national park. Sam lead the way with a stick to hit the spider's webs away and one day even saw an emu (6 ft tall) as it scurried into the bushes.
We spent our evenings listening to Sam learn a new chord on Ben's guitar each day, playing the humming game, laughing at tales of the old days and eating chocolate.
Such a lovely, relaxing week!
