Day 60
I'm in New Zealand! Not without event though - the customs officer used the wrong stamp in my passport (by mistake) and I ended up locked in a little room for 45mins before someone came to sort out the problem!!! I had begun to think I was coming home....
I haven't had much opportunity to look round Auckland, but there is lots to do, and I'm hoping for lots of adrenalin activities in the next couple of days! The choice is between climbing the Harbour Bridge (I did Sydney a few years ago, so then I would have a pair!), climbing the sky tower (the tallest building the the Southern Hemisphere) into the spike at the top, or "rappeling" down one of the other skyscrapers, essentially this is forward abseiling with some freefall jumps!! What a choice! You will be relieved to know that I have already eliminated bungy jumping - the all to recent neck injury is looming in my mind!!
I had a lovely couple of days in Brisbane; with some sightseeing in Chinatown and a walk through the city. Unfortunately, I got lost (oops!) and the walk was somewhat longer than expected! I also managed a little more shopping but amazingly managed to buy presents (no, I haven't forgotten that in the next week it is both Mother's day and Daddy's birthday!!), and resisted buying things for me!
I hope you are all enjoying the better weather at home, and making the most of some sunshine! The weather here is not nearly as nice as Australia, but still a very sociable 20degrees.
Lots of love to all of you,
I miss you!
