Day 75
Another fantastic couple of days in South Island; with some fabulous views and awesome activities!
Yesterday we had our longest drive of the holiday; about 5 hours from Franz Josef to Queenstown - it can hardly be described as a hardship when we wanted to stop every 10minutes to take a photo of the amazing scenary! We drove through mountains, past lakes (fortunately not through them!) and through pastureland. Absolutely spectacular, and some very very bendy roads with lots of hairpin turns down the mountains! All in all an easy drive (not that I did any!) and we are in another lovely hotel in Queenstown.
For those who don't know, Queenstown is the Adrenalin Activity capital of New Zealand (and realistically of the world) so we felt obliged to participate today! I was torn between throwing myself of a platform, swinging over a canyon, riding a high speed jet boat, or a combination of the three... and the family desicion was to go canyoning! We had an amazing few hours with a mixture of zip lines, abseiling, climbing, swimming, jumping (from up to 8m!) and sliding down waterfalls!! Fantastic! I have to confess that I am a little suprised and extremely proud that despite being at least 20 years older than anyone else on the trip, both Mummy and Daddy did brilliantly and we all came back with smiles on our faces! I promise to upload some selceted photos and videos tomorrow!
Tomorrow we leave for Te Anu and then onto Doubtful Sound - I'll keep you posted with our antics!
Lots of love to all of you from all of us,
Keep smiling,
Miss you all,
