We ended our last night at airlie beach with a BBQ on the esplanade and a few beers of course!!! next morning we headed to the eungella national park. Getting to eungella was a bit of an ordeal for our poor campervan, as we had to get 3km up a 12% gradient hill - but we made it. Our main reason for going here was to spot platypus in the wild but after sitting at the creek for over an hour they were still not showing - however we did see turtles, eels, fish and a king fisher while we waited so not a wasted trip. We drove down to finch hatton gorge later and went for a swim in the water hole right under neath a
waterfall, very cold but very refreshing!
Next morning we drove 3hours down the coast to a small town called yeppoon, not a lot there but needed to use it as a stop on the way to the town of 1770. 1770 was great we had soo much fun here. the campsite was right on the beach - the water was lovely and had a large sand bank (which we tried to swim to but halfway across we got tired and swum back!! lol) 500m to the local pub which we sampled that night - and there was a very horny dog there! At first i thought the dog was cleverly hugging the childrens leg and said "look Daryl the dog is doing tricks" then i realised it wasnt doin tricks it was just humping everyones legs!! One evening we did the chopperoo tour, oh my god it was totally awesome. Run by a guy that looked like hulk hogan (very skinny version) and about 40 other people riding on our tour. We got to choose the bike we liked and i couldnt make my mind up - the pink one or the aussie bike????? went for the aussie one. They were 125cc and i have to admit i was scared, Daryl took to it like a pro of course but i was a little wobbly getting out of the car park ha ha! Once we got out on the road tho it didnt take long till we got used to it. We got to see kangaroos on the roadside and Scenic lookouts before finishing off watching the sunset at the pub with some potatoe wedges. Perfect way to end the day. next day we decided to take a surf lesson, 10 quid for 3hours very cheap! Our surf instructor was about 65 years old and dressed in a cammoflauge full wet suit and long hat, very over weight (think his surfing days were over!!) however he was very good and helped us to catch some waves. Daryl again took to it like a pro and stood straight up on his first wave, took me a couple of times to get to my feet but once id got it there was no stopping me. We thought it was great for the money we paid and we spent a good couple of hours in the water. Cant wait to get to some more of the surf beaches so we can hire a couple of boards out again.
After spending a morning on the beach we drove down to a town called Bundaberg, very nice here. Unfortunatly i had a bit of sun stroke from spending too long in the water and was feeling quite ill that night so while i stayed in the campervan daryl took a walk into town with anna and franz, and came back with a 30pk of xxxx gold beers, not bad to say he was only going for a loaf of bread! Tomorrow we are going to Mon Repos to do some turtle spotting as breeding season has just begun at the moment, so fingers crossed we will get to see some.
Will blog again next week, so keep reading, love to all x x x

Mariana It's not a small thing to take decisions to chngae your lifestyle. The hardest thing in life is to chngae your habits. You've already done that. Now all you have to do is keep up the good job. You have to remember though that the first few pounds it gets tougher and tougher. The most crucial part after those first pounds is your diet. More important than exercise.
Huy My dream is to visit Alaska but it s very big state and you have to use plane to get to some places, what is poabobrly expensive. (I wish to visit far North) Not for a student budget so far haha
