What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas! so we left the gambling, sex, drugs and rock 'n' rol behind us! lol
We drove down to the Grand Canyon, crossing the Hoover Dam on the way - Which is very impressive! And then we crossed the stateline from Nevada into Arizona. Were staying in a motel in a small town called Williams which is on the historic Route 66 Highway - which used to be the main road between Chicago and LA. This is our base for the next couple of nights from where we will see the Grand Canyon from.
This morning we were both very excited as we are going on a helicopter flight across the Grand Canyon as an early birthday present for daryl. It was a 50mile drive to the airport, and although i've wanted to go on a helicopter for as long as i can remember, when we arrived i started to feel really nervous. Daryl was still really excited though. We had only paid for the 30minute flight, but the guy at the heli depot said we had been put on a longer flight for no extra cost! It should have been another $70, lucky us! They decided where we would sit according to our weight, as i was the lightest i was sat right at the front next to the pilot - Peter. Daryl wa sat in the cabin with 4 others. I certainly got the best seat so i felt a really guilty as it was daryl's birthday treat =( As we lifted off the ground i was sooooo scared we were flying so fast and the nose was still pointing towards the floor! But then we glided off over the tree tops, we did some roller coaster lifts and drops which put your stomach in your mouth and i was terrified, the pilot had a good laugh at me. The scariest bit was when the helicopter sped up and flew right over the edge of the canyon, the drop was sooo steep it took everyones breath away. As soon as we flew into the canyon all my fear dissappeared, the rock formations and scenry were fantastic it was so beautiful, like nothing we had seen before. I was loving it and i kept turning around to see if Daryl was enjoying it too, but he was constantly looking at the floor so i just assumed there was a window in the floor. I couldn't ask him or get his attention as we had ear defenders on. When i looked back a second time, thats when i noticed the sick bag!! i can't take him anywhere can i!! Poor Daryl had motion sickness, he looked so ill. Unfortunatley it was quite a windy day so there were a few bumpy areas. I think he was releived to get back on the ground but....air sickness aside we did both really enjoy it. We flew with a company called Papillion, they are the cheapest around and we highly recommend them. It's got to be one of the major highlights of the whole trip. I drove the 50mile home while my poorly passenger slept, and then spent the rest of the day recovering in the motel.
Unfortunately the blog site is under maintenence at the moment, so we're unable to get all the photo's on, but we'll put them on as soon as we possibly can!
Tomorrow we're going to do a drive around the south rim, and then we'll head towards Phoenix.

Hendri WARNING:ct. 29 (Bloomberg) Dish Network Corp. customers in some ciites may face their own Fox blackout next week, as the satellite company feuds with Fox parent News Corp. over programming fees ahead of a Halloween contract deadline.Dish’s existing contract to carry more than 25 local Fox TV stations expires at midnight on Oct. 31. If an agreement can’t be reached, the channels would go dark for more than 3 million customers in New York, Los Angeles, Washington and other ciites. That would affect Fox shows such as “House” and potentially the last three games of the World Series.Fox already cut off programming to Cablevision Systems Corp. in a similar dispute, affecting about 3 million customers in the New York area. News Corp. said it considers the Fox network just as valuable as the most expensive cable programming because of sports shows and hits like “American Idol.”“It’s going to get really nasty,” Matthew Harrigan, an analyst at Wunderlich Securities in Denver, said in an interview. “Dish is more exposed to programming costs than any other pay-TV provider because they face a lot of competition. Fox is absolutely determined to force this through.”Dish and Fox said they have not yet reached an agreement. Francie Bauer, a Dish spokeswoman, said yesterday in an interview the company is hopeful it can reach a “fair” agreement. Scott Grogin, a Fox spokesman, said in an e-mail yesterday that the company wants a “successful resolution.”
Ashwin Theyre totally prtjecoing some future things through Daryl and the hunt for Sophia. Daryl's "vision" of Merle, plus Sophia's prolonged absence will make for a great scene when we find out that Merle has found Sophia ahead of the group. I can see it coming Merle will reveal himself to Daryl on one of his searches, with Sophia in tow (how else has she survived this long). Daryl will think its another vision, but then we see the missing hand, and we have that big "Oh s***" moment. I think Merle has been shadowing the group since Atlanta, going so far as to herd walkers into the stolen box truck, then release them on the group as his revenge for leaving him on the rooftop. Merle and Daryl were put in this show as catalysts, no doubt, and I think the writers are using them to set up some great story lines. Going back to the books it's all about the hand, man.
