The day had come when it was time to visit our 3rd of the 7 Wonder's Of The World, the great Iguazu Falls (Argentina side), so we got up about 8.30/9am, had brekky before having a shower then heading outside to catch the big yellow bus to the Falls. We had picked today as it said it was going to be very hot and it was. When we jumped on the bus it was quite packed with people heading to the same place as us. We arrived after a 15 minute journey and had to pay £15 to enter the Iguazu Jungle park which wasnt too bad for a day out.
We started by having a butchers in a couple of the shops for a keyring for Matt as he is collecting them at each wonder of the world, and for me i was looing for a bracelet as im trying to collect them for each country i enter. Matt ended up getting a couple of nice bracelets, i was gonna get the saem but a different colour but my wrists were to small and it was really loose. After that we went and got the train from Cataratas Station to Devil's Throat Station where we had to walk 1100 metres across the bridges to reach the amazing Devils Throat. What a great eye opener it was, the amount of water that was coming from all different directions, just a mind blowing moment. We had our picture taken from a bloke for AR$40 (£6 per pic) where he stood on a ladder so he was above us to get us and the devils throat all in one picture which was amazing, he told us he would bring the pics to our Hostel later on that day. The funny thing about this is that he would shout at everyone to move out the way so we could get us in the pic with no one else in it, felt like Royalty. After this we walked back to Devil's Throat Station to get the train back to Cataratas station where we could visit the rest of the park as the Devil's Throat was the furthest away. We got off the train and was trying to read the map on where to go next which came across quite difficult. We then visited a couple of the other small waterfalls which were very nice, the good thing about this is that the further you walked round the more waterfalls you see and, the bigger they get and by the end you can see literally all of them and what an amazing view it was as you can see from the pics.
We then got a little hungry and there was a little cafe selling ham and cheese rolls which looked quite nice so we got a roll and a drink each which came to AR$68. It seemed like we were spending loads but it only came to like £5 each. Matt doesnt like cheese so he took the cheese out of the roll and suddenly this Ant-eater lookalike came over sniffing about so he dropped abit of cheese on the floor which he swooped up quite quickly. Then i dropped another bit but by this time he knew where abouts it was coming from, so i dangled a slice above my leg so he jumped up like a dog on my legs which was quite funny and got what he wanted. He then jumped up on the table sniffing through our food but luckily we was finished. He picked up a ketchup packet and ran off, but couldnt manage to get it open so being the good guy i am i opened one for him and gave him it before warning him that it isnt Heinz so he may not like it. After finishing the packet he came back to the table, there was a lolly stick with a bit of chocolate left on it that i tried feeding him (as seen from the pic) but he didnt like this to much. Then one of the blokes that worked in the cafe came out and threw water at it and gave it a kick.
It was time for us to move on to this boat trip that we had booked up with the Hostel which took you up the side of the waterfalls and you get a little wet and get a brilliant view of the falls. As we walked round we could see a load of people walking back soaked and realised that this must be the bit where you literally stand underneath the waterfall. So we managed to find it and yes, you get very wet but an amazing couple of seconds. Luckily the boat that we had to catch was right next to this part of the park where we was. We got down by the side of the river, chucked our life jackets on and jumped on the boat. As we jumped on the boat there was a bloke filming the boat ride which looked cool. He was filming the whole 12 minute boat ride for AR$150 (£22) which didnt seem to bad as we would only visit there once. The boat went right underneath 2 waterfalls which you got ABSOLUTLY soaked, but a great experience. As we got off the boat we ordered one of the DVD'S which you had to pay for there and hope he would bring it to the Hostel later on that night. After this we tried to fing a spot where the sun was shining as we were a little cold and needed to dry off a little before jumping on the bus back to the Hostel. By the time we walked and got the train back to the entrance of the park we were virtually dry, ready for the bus back.
When we got back it was about 6pm and on the board where the activities for that day was wrote, it said 'BBQ and Brazilian Party' for AR$55 (£8).So we thought we would have some of that so wrote our names down. Later that night at 8pm the BBQ was similar to before like potatoes, salads, bread etc and they brought the meats round which were very nice once again. After everyone had finished there food we knew something was going on as there were ribbons and balloons everywhere. Suddenly a bloke playing a tiny drum came out and started to entertain us by getting the group involved in activities and stuff. Straight away he was going round and pickng boys out and knew he was going to pick me as i always end up getting picked for something. But luckily there was about 10 of us out the front, we had to all sit together on this step and a half naked women (knickers and bra) danced and put her bum in our faces which was great, just hoping that she don't let rip. Then get in a circle and do a little dance which was fun. After we all sat down he picked a load of girls out of the group which had to dance like how the brazilian girls do, which was fun to watch aswell. Soon after the girls sat down he was looking for 2 boys so straight away i pointed at Matt and he had to go up there after calling me a name i wont put on here (haha) with another boy. A different girl dressed in knickers and bra came out and had to teach them both how to do the girl dance, wiggling there bums, bent over doing all sexual dances which Matt couldnt do very well which made it even better. Just wish i had the camera. The other boy was worse so made Matt feel a little better. Then the crowd had to choose the winner which Matt won. He sat down and kept the other boy up there and made him look a bit silly by doing funny stuff to him that Matt was glad that they told him to sit back down.
After the entertainment was finished the bloke got everyone in Conga dance going around the Hostel and pool and evenually led us down by the pool where there was little disco being put on for us all to have a boogy to finish off the night which went on for a good few hours. Overall it was a very good night for everyone. Thank you Hostel Inn Iguazu...
