After our week in Rio, we had done everything we had gone there for and time to move on to Argentina to see the Iguazu Falls and experience it there. So it was another early morning flight for us at 6am so we tried to stay awake all night again by watching DVD's and stuff as the taxi was booked for 3am. The cab turned up and we threw our bags in and off we went back to Rio de Janeiro International Airport. The taxi man was very grumpy, didnt say a word not that we would of understood him. It was about £19 for the cab but im sure he conned us as we were sure we gave him more than expected and expected change back but he said we didnt give him enough so we had to give him more. The taxi man went home happy that night.
We arrived at Iguazu Airport and straight away the sun was beaming, lovely jubbly. It didnt look like a airport at all. We got outside and everywhere seemed really spacious, nice and clean and the people seemed friendly. We didnt have no money on us at this point, it didnt help the cash machine being out of order, so we had to get a taxi into the town which is very tiny but seemed overly nice, got our dosh and headed to back to the Hostel that we had already gone past to get to the town.
As we arrived it seemed like heaven, swimming pool, sunbeds, the weather was great and it seemed in the middle of no where. Walked in and everything seemed to be on one floor except for the rooms. Again very spacious and very chilled out. It was about 10.30am at this point but we could get into our rooms until 2pm so we chilled out on the Internet, had a few game of table tennis and had a little sunbathe. We felt straight away that this Hostel was by far the best Hostel so far. It had boards up of activities they do daily like footy, poker tournments, BBQ's. It annoyed us a little that we only had 3 nights here to see the Iguazu Falls and head down to Buenos Aires.
2pm soon came round and we got into our rooms which we a very nice size, 6 beds but as we got in there first out of everyone we picked the best beds. We threw our bags down, chucked the speedo's on and straight to the pool for a bit of sunbathing. After a while we got hungry and got a little bit of lunch at the Hostel as we would of had to get a bus into town. The food was really cheap aswell, not to much choice and quite nice. After lunch we went straight back to the sunbed to catch some rays. That night we watched Fast And Furious 5 as the had a DVD room. During the film I was knackered and fell asleep on the bean bags. Some blokes come into the room but made a racket as they came in, I was half asleep and had an attack or something because when they came in I tried picking the bean bags up to throw at them, luckily Matt was sitting on the one I tried to throw. I was still asleep at this point and looked like I was having an attack on the floor, funny afterwards when I had woken and Matt filled me in. Weird!
The next morning the weather was very much the same, if not hotter! So the speedo's went back on and sunbathing from about 10am until bout 5pm when the sun went down. We both got a little red (put sun cream on mum's so dont moan) as you can see from the pics. Went and had a shower, got our pulling clothes on and headed upstairs for a few beers before going to the town for dinner and hitting a club that had got told about.
Got into the town and went to a restaurant which looked quite nice, I ordered the wrong thing that looked like sick on a plate, Matt ordered this Sirloin Steak which was huge (see pic) that he said was the best steak he's ever had. After dinner we went to this bar called Jacky Brown which we could get free drinks in due to the restauraunt we ate in, plus free entry into the one club in town so that was quite good. The free drinks were them Caipirinha's that I told you about in Rio. Jacky Brown was empty and we thought this is going to be a poop night, but I asked the bloke behind the bar and he said it will get busy at bout 12ish. It was 10 at this point so we waited about and had a few more drinks before going into the club. We could see that the town was starting to get a bit more busy now. The club was quite good, most of the people just swayed from side to side, hardly any movement but me and Matt soon changed that. We was cutting some mean shapes on the dance floor, the carlton (Carlton dance from Fresh Prince Of Bel Air) was out, people definatly thought we were gay. About 3am we got a taxi back to our Hostel and went straight to bed.
We got up about 8.30am bitten to death by the Mosquito's, got so many bites all over us. We needed to get in touch with STA Travel about changing our flight to Buenos Aires as we wanted to stay at this Hostel for another 10 days or so. It all got done thanx to Ms Godfrey for ringing them for us as they wouldnt respond to our emails. So straight away we went to reception to make sure they had the room for us for another 10 days. They did which was good and it was only £10 a night. Good times! After that it was time to log onto the football as Blackburn vs Arsenal was on. After a while i got bored and had another little sunbathe while leaving Matt to watch the rest of it, he then watched Wolves vs QPR after as he is a QPR fan. We then chilled for the rest of the day by the pool with a couple of beers, played a little bit of table tennis before getting ready for the BBQ that the Hostel was putting on for us for £8pp. Loads of salad, rice, bread, new potatoes and meat that they would bring round to each person which was very tasty. After dinner we went and had a shower, got our glad rags on and hit the town. Started off at Jacky Browns again for a couple then hit Club Libre. It was alot more busy than the previous night but with alot of young people. By the looks of it, it looked like there wasnt alot of people over the ages of 16, looked like a party of some sort but we carried on anyway before heading back a bit earlier than last night.
On the sunday night we headed back into town for dinner but there wasnt no bars/clubs open except for that Club Libre and we didnt fancy going there 3 nights in a row. We headed back after dinner only to find that our room had these little muddy footprints in our room. We walked over to our bed and our locker had been broken into, the lock was snapped clean off. One of the other lads in our room had left the windown open. Our bags with our Passports, Laptop, cameras etc had gone but luckily they had been thrown out and on the other peoples beds, all open so we knew they had a browse through them. Our Passports, Laptop and Cameras were still in there. They managed to grab 200 peso (£30) out of Matts bag and he's much loved New York Yankees hat which he was more annoyed about as he had got it from New York. So we informed the manager at the Hostel who was very apologetic about what had happened. He then rang the police and when they turned up they took some pictures of where they got in from not that they could really do anything now. The manager has put us in this double room ensuite with 2 single beds instead of a double bed for you's that was wondering, no funny business. Really nice room with a TV, even get our own towels, B-day which i enjoy quite a few times a day.
The next day there was a lot more people checking in than out which was good as we was hoping they would start doing some activities during the day like they said they do. We went into town to get brekky/lunch as we had a lay in to catch up on a little bit of sleep and missed the Hostel breakfast. We got a couple of drinks and i managed to sneak a milkshake behind the drink i was buying so the women behind the till couldnt see it, BARGAIN!! That was like 50p saved, still got alot to nick before we get to the £30 they stole. joking! You can take the boy out of Cray, but cant take Cray out of the boy!
Abit later on after dinner, had a shower and chilled out at the Hostel as it looked pretty busy with a load of new people, so we mingled in and started chatting to a few people. There was a girll that Matt was talking to from Tooting which we never knew was 2 doors down from our room, and the rooms in our corridor are all doubles so when she went passed Matt was standing at the door so i put a really camp voice on which she heard and probably thinks there something going on now, Matt got all enbarrassed. Funny from my point of view.
Ever since we have booked the extra 10 days the weather has been awful, alot of cloud and awful lot of rain. Thunder and lightning during the night but it says the weather is meant to be nice for the rest of the week so lets hope its nice tomorrow as we are visiting Iguazu Falls...

22/09/2011 - Iguazu Continued...
So after our day trip to the falls, the thursday was really hot so the speedo's was back out for the whole day, the pool was a really nice temperature so a bit of swimming aswell, abit of volleyball and overall a good tanning day for us both. That night Matt had abit of bad news from he's mum, someone had copied he's details in Brazil and had drew over £2000 out by signature, right upto he's limit and even had transactions declined where they would have gone over the limit which wasn't good. So straight away Sheryl got on the phone to the bank to inform them, then they cancelled the card straight away and had to tell the bank all the transactions that Matt hadnt made, the good thing is that Matt doesn't have to pay it all back, only what he has spent. So this now means that he has to get a card sent across the pond to here which is going to cost quite a bit and use he's STA card which we have for emergencies. Luckily it was spotted before it got too late!
We knew for the rest of the time we had in Iguazu was going to be a chill out before we hit Australia. The report said it wasnt going to be great the first few days but the last 4 was going to be hot, so that was good news.
On the Friday night we headed to the town again for a bit of a boogy as it was good the last week when we went. We got up there, had a few beers in the bar just down the road then head to Club Libre which was empty which was a bit of a shock as we were ready to throw some shapes around the dance floor. So we headed back to the Hostel and just had a couple more beers back there. We done the same the Saturday night and again it was empty. Shocker!
From the sunday to when we leave was meant to be the hot days so we just sat by the pool and got our tans on. Good couple of relaxing days. Out the back of our window we say a few football goals with nets so we hired out the football from our Hostel and had a few shots at eachother for a hour or so, but then we got a bit hot so jumped in the pool. That night we just made dinner and just chilled out at the Hostel as there was a few things to do.
On the monday we done the similar during the day but on the night time they had a pool competition (whoever won the most games won it) and it was AR$10 (£1.50) plus a beer which was AR$10 anyway so the pool competition entry was free. There was slighty different rules to there pool though, basically whatever pocket you potted your last ball in, that was the pocket you had to pot the black in aswell and if you potted the white ball while you both was on the black the other person won. So you could imagine how long some of the games went on for. On the TV in the corner by the pool tables we saw that they were showing the first 2 episodes of the new series of Jersey Shore which me and Matt are big fans of. Matt didn't want to play pool after he realised it was on so apparently let me win my game and went back to our room to watch it as we had a TV in our room. I carried on playing pool against the others and altogether i played 5, lost 1 so i had won the competition. So for the winner they gave a bottle of Balbo Malbec Red Wine. It was rank but i got 7 cups and shared it between all the staff as they were the people who pld in the pool tournement and had a good laugh with them, lovely people. Then about 1.15am i headed to bed for our last day in Iguazu.
Up early for brekky and straight out to the pool to catch some last minute rays as the weather was a bit poo in the next place where we are heading. It was the hottest day so far and literally felt like we was on fire. That night we went for a final meal in the town and went back to the hostel for a couple of bevvies before heading to bed for our flight to Buenos Aires in the morning...
