So the day had come when us and the girls were going to Cordoba. After saying our goodbyes to Clodagh and Barry we all jumped in a taxi to the bus station for our 11.30pm bus. Arrived at the bus station about 15 minutes before our bus and it was quite hard to find the right one but did in the end. We had the top of the range seats that went straight back into a bed which was nice. Very comfy, you got your own pillow and quilt and which made it even more comfy is that we had a head massage thing that the girl brought so me and Debbie took it in turns over the course of the journey. Soon as the bus starting going they brought round dinner which was chicken, and a few little snacky bits. They played a flim with Bruce Willis which i didnt know but think they started it like half way through for some reason which werent good. A few of us swapped seats and me and Debbie stayed up for a while having a chat. It felt like straight as we fell asleep they were waking us up to get off as we had arrived in Cordoba.
Soon as we arrived pretty sleepy we had to get a taxi to a Hostel that Baz and Clodagh had told us to go to as they had a lot of rooms. We got there and the girls stayed in one room and the boys in another. There was 3 beds in each room (a bunk bed and a single bed). We all decided to have a shower before heading for a wonder around the town. As we were alot quicker than the girls we decided to buy a litre of beer while waiting for them. it was about 10.30am by this point. Next minute the girls were bringing in there clothes and everything, then we found out that the lock on the girls door broke so they had to move into our room so one of us would have to share which didnt bother us. After the beer had been finished and the girls had got ready we went for a walk around town to search for a t-shirt that the girls promised to buy me and they didnt like one of my ones. The t-shirt didnt get bought and instead ended up buying a few litres of beers to drink on a wall as we couldnt find the park to sit down. Before long we got told to move for some reason so we picked up our beers and headed back to the Hostel to cook dinner as it was quite late by this time. Me and Rosa had to cook dinner (chicken, rice and pasta) while Matt and Debbie searched for a place to stay for the beer festival as it was about 2 hours on a bus away. . There was a place that was AR$1000 each for 3 nights in a little house. No one could disturb us and it looked pretty nice, expensive but nice. So we pre booked for the following night.
That night after our dinner and a few beers it was about 2am so we thought we would go an hit a club or some bars. The place was full of bars so we done a bit of bar hopping before sitting in this one bar with a couple of locals. Had a few beers and fags (yes, me and Matt had fags) before these blokes tooks us to a little club/ bar round the corner which looked ok. After about an hour in there the girls went back to change one of Debbies shoes and she broke it trying to climb this ladder and failed, funny to watch though. The club closed and the girls still werent back so we started to head back to the Hostel when these 2 gay guys kept hugging us telling us to come with them to another place but obviously never and just went straight back. The girls werent there either so we quickly got changed for bed when the girls stormed in saying 'come on lets go for one more drink in the bar next door' so sleepily got changed back into what were were wearing, walk downstairs and next door and the bar was closed. Back upto the room we went laughing it off, Straight after we got in bed Debbie was pretty drunk on her Rum and coke and wanted to skype her mates at work as it was about 7am in the morning, so about 11am UK time. We tried to persuade ber to do it in the morning but nooo. I went down with her to reception to Skype her work friends while falling asleep until she had finshed, impossible as it was making me laugh so much. Good old Debbie! After the drunken Skype chat we headed to bed for a nice lay in ready for our bus to Villa General Belgrano where the beer festival was. Only to hear there was a construction site next door so not alot of sleep was consumed. Got up, showered, checked out and headed to the bus station...
Villa General Belgrano
Got on the bus straight as we arrived at the bus station for a bumpy, uncomfortable ride to Villa General Belgrano. After arriving we got a taxi to the place where we were staying and when arrived it was amazing, our own place with a pool, BBQ, and sunbeds. There was our own kitchen, toilet, b-day and safe box. There was a double room and 2 single beds in the front room. By the time we unpacked, Matt and Rosa went down to the bank as the bloke who owned the place was asking for the money. When they got back it was time to go to the supermarket and buy some food and drink for dinner. Later that night Rosa cooked a Spaggetti Bolognase which Matt tried for the first time and enjoyed it. We got a bit drunk like usual after that and went to bed as we were all tired.
The next day we all had a lay in until about 12pm as the weather was crap. Had our cereal and literally just chilled all day as we needed it until the night time when we decided to go into town to see what the beer festival was like. The rain was pouring and very cold for us all but we still went and found a bar that seemed quite busy and stayed there for the night. Met a few nice chaps and one gay one again (its like me and Matt attract the gays) bought us a beer and always trying to talk to us but he was quite a nice guy. We all had a great night singing with the crowd in the bar and having a good time before heading back to our place.
The next morning the weather was really hot and the girls wanted to sunbathe so they did while me and Matt went down to the bus station to organise a bus to go back to Buenos Aires for the follwing night. Grab some food as we were cooking a romantic meal for the girls as they begged us to do. Get some money out but it took ages as the streets were so packed and there was one bank. And get the girls a silly present each as we enjoyed staying with them. We were gone quite a while and by the time we got back we chucked in some lunch for us all and chilled by the pool for a couple of hours to catch some rays before the sun went down. Debbie face got really burnt and was broght red whoch me and Matt made little jokes about which she found funny. Later that night me and Matt got the table ready, put out candles (more for a joke than anything but thats what they wanted) and made it look really nice for the girls when they got back from booking there bus to Mendoza. They loved it when they got back and thought it was cute but we thought it was a bit cringe. Matt chopped the veg while i messed about with the chicken and rice. I literally amazed myself with the Gorden Ramsey cooking, it was so delicious. Better than the one Rosa cooked the other night (haha) Then for desert we bought these shortbread cakes things, melted chocolate and ice cream that went down well aswell as they loved it. Then i done the washing up and played some drinking games before bed!
The next morning we were meant to check out by 10am but laid in until 12am waiting for the bloke to come and get us out, we were all packed ready incase. Our buses werent until the evening so we sunbathed round the pool until later that evening just about as the bloke wanted us off he's property for some reason. Then after a day of sunbathing and catching the sun we all headed to the bus station to say our goodbyes to eachother as were heading our seperate ways and hopefully meet up again in Australia for Xmas and New years. Sad times!
We arrived back in Buenos Aires for a day catching up on the blog and then spent an hour a half walking around having a deep chat about our trip to Australia and what we are going to do when we get there. We have met some people in the last few weeks that have taught us that we are here to travel around and not just sit in one place. Maybe a whole change to our trip to Oz....
