Sunday 31st January.

I didn't wake up until 11:30!!! I couldn't believe it. It's the latest I've woken up in months. My head was sore but I still didn't expect to sleep in for so long. We didn't want to waste the day though so we headed out to the Brisbane Botanic gardens. We lay under a tree and tried to enjoy the sun but there was no breeze and it was 34 degrees so it was suffocating. We finally cracked and got a taxi back to the hostel as we couldn't find a bus and it was a 45 minute walk we weren't prepared to do in the heat. We sat by the pool at the hostel for a while and I read my book. When we got hungry we took a walk and found a Indian restaurant to get a curry from which was nice. When we got back to the hostel we found the TV room downstairs was empty so we each lay on a small sofa, watching some trashy tv. The remote was broken so to change the channel we had to ask reception to do it. We were feeling that lazy that instead of walking upstairs to ask them, Kirsty found their number on google and called them up to ask them to put something else on for us. We were giggling about how embarrassing it was but we didn't have the energy to care at this point. Once the programme finished that we were watching we decided not to call reception again so I wandered to the TV room upstairs. It was full of men all watching the tennis as Andy Murray was in the final. I just sat down because the room was air conditioned and Kirsty had gone to call her boyfriend. I didn't last long though because i don't find tennis interesting at all, so I just decided to go to bed and read my book before I turned the lights out for the night.
