Tuesday 19th January.
I must be the only person who has a cough and a cold in the middle of the Australian summer, but I felt rough when I woke up. I blame Kirsty. She had a cough before me and would never put her hand over her mouth when coughing no matter how many times I asked her, so here I am now poorly. I spent the morning walking around the clothes shops and picked up a maxi dress to cover the new sunburn I have randomly on the back of my knees from surfing. I met Kirsty and we went to 'Edge hairdressers' at midday for her to have her haircut and for me to have my eyebrows done. We went back to the campsite to have hotdogs for lunch then I spent some time on my own, lying down and reading my book on a bench. About 5pm me and Kirsty went to the Balcony Bar for Happy Hour. We had a couple of wines and looked at our plan for when we drop our camper van back in a couple of weeks. Jamie had said when we were in Sydney to book the north east coast up with her, so she put us in touch with a lady she knew who had sent us a package. We drank our wine and had a look at the package deal, along with our lonely planet book. Everywhere we want to go is in the package and it means we will be getting buses and staying in hostels again, which we both said will be good to mix up with having half our time in the camper van. We agreed that we would go with this which we start on 1st February, then finished our wines and went back to the site for food. We had these microwaveable chicken chow mien meals which we both decided to risk eating. It wasn't good and we both gave up quite quickly. We went back out for a walk along the beach and listened to the street music. There was a man singing on the hill next to the beach so we sat down and listened to him. It was a bit windy so Kirsty went back to get us warmer clothes and I went to the liquor store and got us some beers. Once the singing finished there were random people spinning fire on sticks. We went over to another man who was doing it too but everyone who was sat around just seemed far too weird for us. Kirsty muttered under her breath to me about it being the reason we shouldn't leave the campsite at night. We got back and video called Mum and Dad before we went to bed.
